CMA Awards: Carrie Underwood’s emotional ‘Mama’s Song’

After a rip-roarin’ opening performance of “Songs Like This,” Carrie Underwood brought it down to perform her new hit “Mama’s Song” as her mom Carole looked on from the audience. The song is about Carrie reassuring her mom because she’s found a real man who treats her well.

The music video was playing behind Carrie (in her Carlotta-from-”Hannibal” dress) and it features footage of her mom and her husband Mike Fisher (who couldn’t be at the CMAs because he’s on the road with his pro hockey team the Ottawa Senators) and footage of Carrie growing up.

Not a dry eye in our house. What about yours? Above is Carrie performing the song at her 2009 holiday special. We’ll post video of the CMA performance as soon as it becomes available
